welcome day. bruce + heidi destination wedding.

Before we share Bruce and Heidi's beautiful winter wedding, I thought we'd show you a couple shots from their welcome day. As an intimate number of friends and family arrived in Estes Park, Colorado from multiple cities and states, crisp air, fresh snow fall and awesome welcome bags (monogramed and filled with goodies) awaited everyone.

Being a born and raised Southerner, I was honestly surprised by how much I seriously loved this snowy town. I'll admit that when I saw the forecasted temps before we left, I was shaking in my boots...but when we got there, I actually wasn't. I don't know whether it was the glory of the snow-covered mountains or the crunch of fresh snow beneath my feet, but I finally understood this "dry cold" everyone up north speaks of. And looking out over the magnificent Rocky Mountain National Park, we were breathless (and not just because the elevation up there can really knock the wind out of you)!

After all the guests arrived that afternoon, the girls drove into town to get their nails done and then they met up with the guys at a small local wine tasting before everyone headed to a big welcome dinner in a warm, cozy mountain restaurant. I love that we got a good chance to meet everyone and capture a few photos from this day. (Plus, we ran into a pretty awesome elk road block on the way into town-photos as promised!) Enjoy!

What a wonderful night indicative of a beautiful wedding to come!

xoxo
