tuesday tip: invitation suite

Your wedding invitation suite is one of the first items your guests will see setting the tone for your day. You worked hard picking out the color scheme, fonts and maybe even cutting and pasting them yourselves, so this work shouldn't go uncaptured on your wedding day! (Bryan didn't know what an embossing gun was before we got engaged and designed our invitations...and perhaps now he wishes he didn't know how to use one so well!)

We'd love to make sure these items are included in your gallery of wedding photos, but if we don't have them on your wedding day, this will be tough. As much as I really love to receive snail mail, the gentle wear and tear on your invite from travel does not always photograph the best.

Here are 5 things we recommend you put in a folder and give to your maid of honor to bring on the big day (delegate, delegate!):

  • save the date (2 copies if it is one front/back piece like a postcard)
  • wedding invitation
  • two envelopes (one blank and the other with just names printed--better not to include the personal address of a guest as these photos will be publicly published online
  • rsvp
  • directions, maps or any other extra inserts

***extras (not needed but helpful if you have them): any ribbon remnants, fabric pieces or other tokens used in creating your day or which inspired your day***

Extra things like ribbon used throughout the day for decor can be a great touch to this photo, but don't stress about this part. I love getting creative when compiling pieces for the invitation suite image in order to bring out the personality of your wedding day! I've been known to "source" items for this photo:)

Getting to see a couple's invitation suite is exciting because you get to know so much about them from one little design aspect of their day. Brittany and Sam's suite was especially fun for us to check out as they used one of their engagement photos for their save the date!

Can't wait to see your suite!

From our world to yours,

xoxo-E
