During a time when it may seem like the popular thing to do is run away from your cubicle and head for the hills, these words from Hugh MacLeod (from his book, Ignore Everybody) fall softly and sweetly on the ears.
Yesterday we got to celebrate Father's Day with my dad and two grandfathers. One thing my father has always instilled in me is to always do your best—no matter what you do.
If you're a postman, be the best dang postman walking down the street. If you're a teacher, impart a great wisdom and foundation of learning to your students so that they might one day change the world. If you love numbers and spreadsheets, help people like me who don't so we don't spend an entire day pulling our hair out doing something you could whip up in 5 minutes!
And if you wake up every day thinking about making pictures, never stop learning and growing in your craft. Make art that evokes emotion and redefines Beauty. Capture the world and the people in it.
Climbing a mountain is a giant undertaking. But if you're willing to put in the work for the path on which you're traveling, your passion for reaching the top can outweigh the drudgery of getting there. Finding out what you're specific gifts are and using them to the best of your abilities will help you reach your personal Mount Everest and fulfill your life's work.

Erin my dearest daughter in law, you have just given me inspiration to continue in my new direction of caring for people in a way that keeps them safe and independent for as long as possible. My present client just had a trying episode in which I was able to manage very well and all is ok.
